What are we looking for in our Project Manager?
Project Manager – Hatfield - £16 per hour umbrella
Responsibilities:
1. Provide health and safety advice and guidance management to the team and head of department.
2. Drive the implementation and compliance of business health safety and wellbeing (HSW) policies, procedures, guidance notes, and standards on assigned projects.
3. Monitor and assist with the creation and coordination of inspection and audit schedules; undertake and support operational HSW inspections and audits.
4. Contribute to the development of new standards and updates to existing ones.
5. Evaluate and interpret reporting, audits, corrective actions, operational reports, and KPIs to ensure accurate measurement, reporting, and rectification, identifying gaps for improvement and developing mitigation plans.
6. Manage incident investigations in line with business procedures.
7. Ensure training is current.
8. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and process enhancement.
Requirements:
1. Relevant HSW, industry, or sector experience.
2. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
3. Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and oral.
4. Ability to build rapport and maintain good working relationships at all levels.
5. Proactive, solution-focused, with own initiative.
6. Ability to set and achieve SMART objectives.
7. Self-motivated and purpose-driven.
8. Lead by example.
9. Formal qualification in Safety Management (Level 3 in UK), Nebosh Certificate, or equivalent.
Additional desirable skills:
1. Knowledge of HSW legislation, management systems, auditing, risk management, and mitigation.
2. Ability to present technical information to non-technical audiences.
3. Experience in an HSW role within the industry and sector.
4. Ability to manage conflicting priorities under pressure and deadlines.
5. Proven ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
6. Experience in stakeholder management, motivation, and coaching.
7. Ability to influence and negotiate to drive results.
8. Membership in relevant professional bodies such as IOSH, IWFM, etc., or equivalent.
