Minimum Qualifications
* Degree in Computer Science Studies, verifiable training in computer sciences or degree in Construction Engineering in combination with solid expertise in the field of information technology is a must.
* Fully conversant with Data Security standards and requirements (e.g. ISO27001).
* Strong communication skills at all levels.
* Construction site experience in large projects (between 200m and 1bn contractual value) in a comparable position is desirable.
* Solid expertise in information technology platforms (Office 365, Windows operating systems, Lotus Notes) and networking.
* Expertise in construction software solutions (Bentley products, Primavera, CostOS, PRISM, ArcGIS, etc.) is desirable.
Responsibilities
* Design and management of local network infrastructure (non-corporate) critical to the success of projects, in accordance with construction site and tunnelling standards.
* Build supplier network to ensure delivery of specialist IT equipment to projects.
* Provide constant on-site presence for continued installation of evolving networks (e.g. a live tunnelling environment).
* Possess the necessary expertise and qualifications to carry out installations and preventative maintenance in a construction environment (including underground).
* Extensive monitoring and maintenance of project network to ensure production and safety is not interrupted.
* Control and maintain all equipment connected to the project network (radios, VoIP phones, tunnel gas monitors, segment scanners, access control, inspection PDAs, CCTV, plus all other IoT devices).
* Provide IT support and user training for all bespoke project software solutions (IRIS, TBM navigation, segment production, segment storage, gas monitoring, control of rail movements, underground personnel tracking, stores control, project asset registers).
* Act as product manager where required for any bespoke solutions.
* Constant presence on the construction site and tunnel environments.
* Administrator of project file servers (Sharepoint).
* Ensuring project IT continues to meet standards of Client.
* Report regularly to the Client based on their requirements.
* IT support to all personnel and offices associated with projects, in coordination with BRVZ where applicable.
