Global Treasury Operations EMEA Cash management team have an exciting opportunity for someone to join us as Manager, leading a team responsible for overseeing regional daily cash management operations. The Manager Global Treasury Operations will play a critical role in the daily management of liquidity whilst also being required to provide guidance to adjacent Treasury teams, and be included on complex initiatives in support of Business Unit goals. Additional responsibilities may include driving Regulatory, Control & Compliance or CPI Initiatives to provide value across the organization and representing American Express in engagement with local Bank partners, Regulatory and Legal discussions. How will you make an impact in this role? This position is important to fulfilling Global Treasury Operations mission of ensuring that American Express has the right amount of money, at the right time and place, and in the right currency to fulfill its financial commitments. This role ensures all cash management transactions, including intracompany & intercompany financings, payables/receivables, debt instruments, and M&A activities are executed in a highly controlled manner adhering to all applicable American Express policies and control standards. The role requires strong attention to detail, ability to drive change, innovative problem solving and self-driven delivery against key goals. An understanding and experience of International Treasury operations would be beneficial. Key Responsibilities - Operations - Responsibility for the daily provision of liquidity across the EMEA region. - Managing colleagues to deliver daily cash needs accurately and on a timely basis. - Review and approve Treasury transactions ensuring compliance with internal policies and controls - Use and maintain Treasury Management System and bank portals - Engaging with stakeholders to address operational challenges and to identify and collaborate on effective solutions. - Control & Compliance - Supporting changes as a result of business and regulatory requirements - Maintaining adequate controls across the EMEA cash management process that address and mitigate risk - Implement best practices in treasury operations including business continuity. - Transformation - Lead or participate in treasury-related transformation projects, such as system implementations, process improvements, business or structure optimization initiatives. - Create and leverage analytics to optimise cash efficiency - Drive change through continuous process improvements and re-engineering - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive efficiency, automation, standardization and innovation in treasury operations. - Supporting colleagues to develop operational and leadership skills - Build, maintain and develop relationships with banking partners and Amex business groups Minimum Qualifications - Experience within a Finance or Corporate Treasury operations environment and / or be studying towards a professional Treasury or Accounting qualification. - Ability to prioritize work and keep focused on key deliverables when unexpected challenges arise. - Ability to effectively lead and motivate others to deliver to tight deadlines, with proven people leadership experience. - Strong relationship manager with good influencing skills to develop and maintain effective internal and external customer needs - Strong communicator comfortable in presenting to a varied audience - Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills - Self-motivated and driven; takes initiative to improve ways of working, governance, and assurance. - Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy and integrity. - Competent user of tools and applications (Windows, Treasury applications, Power BI) - Ability to work under pressure to multiple deadlines.
