Job Description
Through the application of industrial expertise, our Industrial Advisory team acts as both a standalone business and supports AECOM projects in the UK&I region and globally:
* Our manufacturing knowledge has translated automotive practices and thinking into the construction and transportation industries.
* Our factory gained automation and control experience brings new perspectives to transport infrastructure projects such as the rail and aviation industries.
* Our Industrial Manufacturing Engineers using their knowledge and experience along with Lean and Six Sigma tools have further unlocked new thinking to make efficiencies for our clients in Defence, Aviation, Global Retail, Automotive and Construction.
We are currently recruiting for experienced professionals at both Senior and consultant levels reporting to an Industrial Advisory sector lead supporting our Industrial manufacturing process offering. As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for ensuring the technical and commercial success of projects delivered.
Objective of the role:
To support development of a top performing Industrial manufacturing process capability within Industrial Advisory, that wins and delivers high value consultancy projects across a broad range of industries and to integrate Lean thinking across all the work that we deliver.
Job Duties:
* Support development of the value propositions for Industrial Advisory capabilities applied into manufacturing environments.
* Support the development of innovative thought leadership that sets AECOM apart from its competitors.
* Support the development of best practice methods and standards for manufacturing process improvements.
* Develop a network throughout AECOM to promote Industrial Advisory into projects and with their clients.
* Develop client relationships through project delivery and in support of business development.
* Support the development of solutions to business/client challenges.
* Collaborate with members of the Advisory Services teams to formulate strategy and develop exciting offerings.
* Ensure projects delivered under your management are executed to quality, cost and time.
Requirements:
* A background working as part of an in-house manufacturing/engineering, project, or process improvement team; or as part of a machine/system integrator within Defence, Nuclear, Automotive or Aerospace, or other highly regulated sectors.
* Must already hold or be capable to apply for Security clearance of SC level (Resident in the UK for at least 5 years).
* Demonstrable experience in relevant manufacturing/construction/logistics industries.
* Automation/robotics knowledge and experience.
* Mechanical handling experience including cranes.
* Manufacturing equipment design, layout planning or production process planning.
* Experience or be willing to develop consulting capacity and developing stakeholder relationships.
* Demonstrate initiative and a desire for dealing with complex problems.
* Able to listen to clients, understand and form compelling arguments for our services.
* Flexible and willing to work away from the office to meet our client or business demands.
Additional skills we value:
* Experienced, approachable leader, demonstrating strong leadership skills.
* Strong coaching, training and influencing skills.
* Some understanding of Continuous Improvement methods/processes and the application of Lean principles and Six Sigma to projects.
* Some experience in leading improvement/change projects.
Qualifications:
Ideally you will be qualified to HND level or above, or will have a minimum of five years' experience working within the industry and be capable to demonstrate this knowledge. Membership of an appropriate professional body would be advantageous for this role.
