Aircraft Paint Sprayer (Supervisor) RAF Marham, Kings Lynn, PE33 9NP Permanent Full time – Monday – Friday £36,750 - £38,000 per annum depending on experience, Plus Benefits RAF Marham is the home of the F-35 Lightning a 5th Generation, multi-role, stealth fighter. The Station is also home to a range of engineering support functions from maintenance to frontline support. Over 3600 Service Personnel, civil servants and contractors work on-site. At Marham, Serco undertake a multitude of surface finishing tasks ranging from full stripping of the external surface finishes to facilitate detailed engineering inspection of the aircraft structure, down to the painting of individual components. Serco’s current workload is inclusive of work on F35 aircraft at both Forward Squadron Operations and within the new Maintenance & Finishing Facility, we also support Hawk training aircraft and the Royal Air Force’s Aerobatic Team and have the capability to Plastic Media Strip Puma Helicopters to substate for inspection. The sites workload also varies from the refurbishment of specialist vehicles and ground support equipment to individual bespoke tasks such as sign manufacture and installation. We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Aircraft Paint Sprayer at Supervisory level to join our team, who will be responsible for the delivery and supervision of surface finish on a wide range of tasks, which include surface preparation and the application of associated surface finish coatings on a multitude of MoD assets. They are required to supervise teams and provide Quality Assurance checks on all tasks undertaken within their area of responsibility. Main responsibilities of the role include: Manage work according to schedule set by the Subject Matter Expert (SME) whilst operating in both Serco and Customer managed facilities and having a total understanding of the quality control system. Ensuring surface finish tasks are completed in accordance with the quality policy, procedures, standards, and its respective approved data. Applying a high standard of Surface Finish to Aircraft, Aircraft components and numerous MoD assets using various paint schemes utilising modern paint application equipment. Comply with all Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental and Aviation safety requirements. Notify section leaders of any anomalies, failures, defects, or corrosion which may give rise to a poor-quality product and/or endanger Aviation Safety. Ensuring that personnel are given adequate training before maintenance of or operating unfamiliar equipment, or before handling any dangerous substances. What you’ll need to do the role: Appropriate experience as a RAF Painter & Finisher supervisor or time served civilian equivalent in the trade of Aircraft Paint Spraying. NVQ Level 3 in Aeronautical Engineering (Surface Finish Pathway) or equivalent qualification. Full UK Driving Licence is desirable. Effective communication and customer service skills. A willingness to learn new skills. A high level of flexibility. Self-motivated and able to motivate others in the team. Able to work well under-pressure in uncertain or challenging situations to meet deadlines.
