Workshop Fitter

AxFlow are looking for a Workshop Fitter with strong experience of pumps to join our team in Huddersfield.
The Role
This is a hands-on position, primarily involving the mechanical repair, maintenance and overhauling of all pumps and pumping equipment. Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, your responsibilities in supporting the workshop will include:
1. Stripping and reporting on faults on customer pumps
2. Recommending necessary repairs and identifying all parts required to complete the repair, in order for a quote to be prepared
3. Carrying out required repairs
4. Completing timesheets to enable time worked to be allocated to specific jobs correctly
The Candidate
We are looking for a motivated and skilled individual who can work independently and as part of a team. To be considered for this role you must hold a minimum NVQ/City & Guilds Level 3 Engineering qualification. The ideal candidate will also have previous experience of Centrifugal Pumps and the ability to read technical drawings, as well as using DTI’s, micrometres and calipers. Relevant training will be provided where necessary and the successful candidate must comply with all Health & Safety regulations within the workshop.
