Exciting opportunity for a Loan Capital Markets Sustainable Finance Director to join the LCM Origination team of a leading Corporate and Investment Bank in London. The Director will assist in the origination process of Sustainable Finance deals throughout the transaction cycle.
Sustainable Finance (GSSS or Green, Social, Sustainability, and Sustainability-Linked finance) sits within the LCM Origination team, supporting the origination of Sustainable Finance (SF) deals throughout the transaction cycle.
The Director will be responsible for developing new sustainable finance products for the bank to expand product offerings and revenue sources.
They will serve as the main contact for RMs from various Front Offices, providing Sustainable Finance advice and products independently.
The role involves pitching sustainable products as the primary contact in LCM to CFOs and Treasurers of large publicly quoted companies and sponsors. The Director will oversee the sustainability aspects of specific deals, collaborating closely with LCM-Origination, front office, and back-office departments such as Credit, Loan Distribution, Loan Execution, and Loan Agency.
They will lead collaboration with Tokyo on sustainable finance topics and oversee junior team members (VP and AVP).
The Director will represent LCM SF internally and externally as needed.
Additional responsibilities include:
* Producing bespoke client ESG bond pitch materials, including issuance & SPO processes, investor preferences, sustainability strategies, project identification, KPI and target setting for SLBs, and regulatory updates.
* Designing credible, bespoke ESG bond structures (Use of Proceeds/General Corporate Purposes) for issuance.
* Leading execution of ESG bond transactions, including structuring and SPO interactions.
* Participating in client meetings to present financing proposals as a sustainability/ESG expert.
* Engaging with clients, ESG agencies, and key stakeholders globally, and participating in joint pitches with ESG colleagues.
