The Senior Carer role is a field position requiring you to spend most of your time in the community working in client’s homes, discussing and assessing their care needs and ensuring staff deliver the best care to our clients.

Hours: Full-time (on-call duties & alternate weekends)

Main ResponsibilitiesKey Tasks
To carry out visits to client’s homes to carry out initial care planning and risk assessments
Ensure all updated RA & Care plans are in the client‘s folder at home and on the office care log system
Carry out staff supervision and record online and in staff’s personnel records
To be involved with induction shadowing of new carers in the community and assessing their competency
Meet with the community team supervisor weekly for guidance and give feedback on client risk assessments and staff supervision
Spot checks on carers competency and quality of care provision
Report to CTS/RM immediately any incidents/ accidents/ near misses/ missed medication or missed calls and ensure correct documentation is completed
Any administrative duties
Attend and contribute to meetings, supervisions and appraisals
Promote the image of Abicare Services Ltd and adhere to all requirements set by Abicare Services Ltd standards
Carer duties – all aspects of daily living, personal care and companionship
The Ideal CandidateMust have:
Previous experience working within the Domiciliary care sector
Qualified to minimum Health & Social Care Diploma Level 2, preferably L3
Experience in Person-centred Care Planning & Risk Assessments
Excellent administrative, organisational and IT skills
Experience in supervising small teams
Problem-solving and the ability to stay calm under pressure
Be confident in liaising with social workers, potential clients and families
Enhanced DBS check
The successful applicant will need a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
