We are looking to recruit a motivated, Progressive (B6-7) Advanced Clinical Specialist Radiographer in Cardiac MRI (CMRI), to join our team in Cardiothoracic Radiology at University Hospital Southampton. Starting as a band 6 Radiographer you will follow a comprehensive induction programme to gain full competency as a CMRI Radiographer with progression to a Band 7 Radiographer, subject to completion of the Cardiac MRI progression competencies.

We are a dedicated cardiac MRI unit, in a tertiary hospital. under the auspices of Radiology, with defined input from Cardiology.
You must be innovative, organised and patient centric. You must have a strong will to learn, with competency in either MRI or cardiac catheter labs to train to work clinically imaging both adults and children for thoracic and cardiac disease, including complex congenital abnormalities.
As part of the progressive role you will train and gain competency to administer adenosine for stress examinations. The progressive nature of this role requires the provision of supervising, teaching, training, and induction of staff working within the CMRI service.
You must be adaptable and able to respond to fast moving and difficult situations. You must be able to collaborate with Radiographers, Radiologists, Cardiologists, Anaesthetists and the Catheter Lab Multi-Disciplinary Team in order to provide and maintain a high-quality service to all our patients.
1. Perform complex imaging with training and completion of competencies progressing to scanning without supervision.
2. Ensure compliance with protocols so that high departmental standards are met.
3. Ensure the delivery of safe patient care.
4. After the induction period work towards completing training to in advance practice as directed in the Expanded Scope of Practice.
5. Weekend work will be required as part of a seven day service.
