The Salvation Army Christchurch Bridge exists to provide safe, integrated, high quality treatment and support services to people whose lives have been affected by alcohol or substance use. Our services are evidenced based best practise and are known for being people-centred, caring, transformative and responsive .
We are looking to appoint a suitably qualified Social Worker or addictions counsellor for our residential programme based in Addington, Christchurch.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Facilitating psycho-educational alcohol and/or other drug groups
2. One to one case management with tangata whaiora
3. Risk assessments
4. Aftercare planning
Person Specification:
5. Is a skilled group facilitator
6. Has a passion for creating hope for those struggling with alcohol &/or drug use
7. Experience in Alcohol and /or other Drug case management with tangata whaiora
8. Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures
9. Experience in one-to-one case management
10. Ability to work in a team environment
11. Is excited about working from a bicultural perspective and understands how the Treaty of Waitangi applies in our setting
12. Embodies the values and mission of The Salvation Army
13. Hold a Full Driver Licence
14. Experience in completing Alcohol and/or other Drug comprehensive assessments ideal

Hours of work: This is a permanent full time role of 40 hours per week Monday to Friday
The starting salary for this role falls between $68,037 - $102,000 annually dependant on experience.
