We’re working with a scale-up in Wiltshire, who work with libraries, archives, and heritage institutions to digitise the world’s historical and cultural knowledge. They are searching for an experienced Lead Product Manager to join the team. This is a pivotal growth role where you'll lead the charge in shaping and executing the product strategy while managing a team of skilled product professionals. What you’ll be doing This position offers a unique opportunity to step into a senior leadership role, guiding the product function and helping the department to thrive. Key responsibilities include:
* Driving the product vision and strategy in collaboration with the Technology Director and senior stakeholders.
* Leading a team of Product Managers, mentoring them, and fostering professional growth.
* Ensuring alignment between engineering, design, and business teams to deliver high-impact solutions.
* Overseeing operational improvements, including best practices, backlog management, and specification creation.
* Managing the delivery of a strong pipeline of work, ensuring projects meet both customer and business needs.
* Contributing to the overall departmental strategy alongside peers in engineering and leadership.
* Supporting the ongoing evolution of the product function, enabling scalability and adaptability as the business grows.
What experience you’ll need
* Significant experience as a Senior or Lead Product Manager with a proven ability to develop and execute product strategies.
* A track record of mentoring or managing Product Managers, including line management experience.
* Excellent stakeholder communication skills and experience managing complex situations.
* Strong knowledge of Agile, Lean, and DevOps methodologies, with an emphasis on iterative development and Continuous Delivery.
* Industry experience in EdTech or publishing would be a bonus.
* A self-sufficient and proactive approach, with a passion for developing effective team environments.
* Backgrounds in education or publishing are welcome but not essential; diverse perspectives are valued.
