We are looking for an Offshore Personnel Manager to join our Survey and GeoEngineering team located in either Bristol or Westhill, Aberdeenshire. We will also consider virtual working from another UK location for the right candidate.
Vysus Group Survey & GeoEngineering delivers project management and consulting services across the offshore energy sector, including offshore wind, marine renewables, subsea cables and oil and gas. We undertake offshore site assessments and manage offshore surveys and site investigations to better inform development opportunities and strategies.
As a key component of this work, we provide associate Offshore Client Representatives (OCRs) who are deployed on offshore survey and site investigation vessels. Typically, we support between 4,000 and 5,000 offshore man days per year, with up to 40 personnel mobilised in any single month. In this role you will manage the procurement, contracting, onboarding, mobilisation/demobilisation, and support of all OCR personnel allocated to offshore projects and vessels. OCR coordination is a key function within our operations and the provision of suitably qualified and experienced OCR personnel is fundamental to the success of our offshore managed projects.
The role requires a close working relationship with the role line manager, the Principal Project Manager and the wider Survey & GeoEngineering Project Management team, within a dynamic and fast-moving environment as we work on multiple simultaneous projects throughout each year.
As an Offshore Personnel Manager, you will:
1. Be responsible for the overall coordination of OCR personnel at all stages of a project from availability enquiry through to contract completion.
2. Liaise and communicate with OCR personnel.
3. Source and secure project-suitable OCR personnel, from those listed within Vysus Group database, searches on social media platforms (e.g. LinkedIn), or from approved agency partners.
4. Review personnel safety training and medical certification documentation ensuring validity.
5. Complete and issue IR35 determinations.
6. Liaise with in-house and external travel and visa departments in support of personnel mobilisation.
7. Maintain up to date status of OCR curriculum vitae.
8. Support Vysus Group Project Managers regarding all OCR personnel aspects on their projects.
9. Fully project manage projects where OCR provision is our only service (OCR Only).
10. Be responsible and accountable for cost tracking and invoicing for managed projects.
11. Maintain the annual registers of OCR placements, dates, rates, and costs.
12. Support weekly Operations meetings regarding OCR resources, identifying issues and recommending solutions.
13. Support weekly department meetings for familiarisation with future project schedules and resource requirements.
14. Advise S&G tender team on OCR availability and market conditions with respect to availability and rates.
15. Have ownership of in-house procedures relating to the provision of OCR personnel.
16. Identify and propose business improvement processes and procedures.
To be successful in the role we are looking for you to have:
1. A fundamental enjoyment of engaging and liaising with associate professional personnel.
2. Experience in a similar role undertaking personnel coordination and management.
3. Experience of short-term recruitment campaigns using the LinkedIn platform.
4. Knowledge of the offshore energy sector with respect to personnel procurement certification and travel.
