Are you passionate about supporting children with Autism and Speech, Language & Communication and Special Educational Needs?
Academics Southampton are working with and supporting a specialist school based in Southampton. They are looking for a dedicated Special Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to support children aged 4-11 with Autism, learning difficulties, and other associated needs.
As a Special Needs LSA at this school, you will be given essential experience within a challenging yet rewarding setting. If you have experience as a Special Needs LSA or come from a background in care, then please apply!
Due to the demand for support in the school from January, they are looking for someone who is going to be available Monday to Friday from 08:30 am - 15:45 pm. This Special Needs LSA will be supporting children on a 1:1 basis.
Job Role and Responsibilities of a Special Needs Teaching Assistant:
1. Assist the class teacher in providing the learning experience of students
2. Behaviour and pastoral support
3. Ability to build robust and effective relationships with students
4. Practical approach to meet the individual needs of students
5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
6. Caring, compassionate, and a good listener
7. Willing to work 1:1 and in small groups with students
8. Ensure safeguarding of students
To be considered to work at this school specifically, you need to have a GCSE grade C or above in both English and Maths.
You will also need to have a DBS on the update service or be willing to submit one through us.
* Monday to Friday
* £83.34 per day dependent on expectations
* You must have the right to work in the UK and be based in Southampton to apply
