Job summary Are you an excellent communicator with an interest in Gynae Oncology? We are looking for an enthusiastic Registered Nurse to join our team for nine months (maternity leave cover), working 34 hours per week. You must have current experience of working within cancer care, either surgical or oncological, and be able to understand the needs of women with a gynaecological cancer. You will join a small but beautifully formed team consisting of 2 Clinical Nurse Specialists and 1 Clinical Nurse Practitioner. You will require good communication skills, a team work approach and be able provide a high standard of nursing care with the support of your team. Informal visits/chats are very much welcomed - contact us today to discuss the position in more detail or organise for you to come and visit Main duties of the job The key function of the role is to work within the existing Clinical Nurse Specialist team within Gynaecological Oncology to deliver a comprehensive service, encompassing all aspects of the care pathway for patients with either suspected or diagnosed gynaecological cancer You will develop advanced clinical expertise with an emphasis on clinical examination and assessment skills and be able to manage patients independently in rapidly changing clinical conditions You will work within a defined case-load with patients from pre-diagnosis through to the end of treatment/discharge/relapsed disease or end of life care, incorporating diagnostic/surgical/medical and oncology teams as appropriate. You will provide a responsive assessment service to ensure responsive triage and implementation of appropriate and timely clinical care for patients with complications of diagnosed cancer and or its associated anti-cancer therapies.
