Our Client, Xstrahl, have manufacturing facilities in the UK and USA and operates globally through its international network of distributors. Xstrahl is a leading designer and manufacturer of Superficial Orthovoltage Medical X-ray Systems used in the treatment of cancers and dermatological disorders, as well as a pioneer in the development of advanced X-ray systems for pre-clinical radiation biology research.
Xstrahl are looking to hire for Procurement & Logistics within the Production department.
Procurement & Logistics is responsible for maintaining Company purchasing policies and procedures and maintaining supply inventory levels. The successful candidate will also be charged with conducting regular price comparisons, where applicable, on key components to ensure that the Company is always getting the best price for each product that is purchased.
The individual will work from the UK office located in Brownhills, West Midlands.
Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
* Ensuring that all procured items meet the required quality standards and specifications and where required follow the SCAR process
* To negotiate prices and delivery timeframes, where possible, with the supplier base
* To ensure suppliers acknowledge and adhere to delivery dates via the department metrics on supplier evaluation.
* Assist Finance with regular checks on invoices receipted against purchase orders in a timely manner.
* Maintenance of the Category 1 & 2 Suppliers listing, ensuring the relevant Quality Certificates are available, where required
* Reviewing and completing Supplier Audits on Category 1 Suppliers, on an annual basis, or as laid down in the quality procedure
* Work closely with the Production Controller and Warehouse Controller, to ensure that there is a disciplined approach to stock control, both in and out of the warehouse and that appropriate storage conditions are maintained.
* Significant input to the quarterly stock takes
* Organising the shipping for the delivery of spare parts and Service Dept. requirements, to meet the metrics of the department including producing exports documents for non-UK/EU shipments.
* Assist R&D in the procurement of both “off the shelf” and bespoke components
Required Skills and Education:
* Must have experience working with medical devices.
* Prior experience working within procurement and logistics
* Ability to create and maintain good working relationships with suppliers and colleagues by communicating effectively and delivering within agreed timeframes
* Strong critical thinking and negotiation skills
* Good knowledge of inventory
* Good IT skills including knowledge of SAP and Excel spreadsheets
* Ability to work on own initiative and also as a team player
* Strong emphasis on accuracy and detail
* Good time management, planning and organisational skills
Annual Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 depending on experience
