Our client is looking for a Neighbourhood Officer to join their team. This is an exciting prospect that involves the responsibility of overseeing the surrounding communities of Calderdale. Outline of Key Responsibilities for the Neighbourhood Officer:
1. To be responsible for the monitoring of the level of vacant dwellings on schemes/estates and to ensure that properties are inspected and re-let with a minimum delay by following our lettings and void management policies and ensuring contract compliance.
2. You will provide advice and assistance to our residents on all housing matters so they can successfully maintain their tenancy. This includes information on legal rights, responsibilities of their tenancy agreement, and managing any welfare and safeguarding concerns.
3. You will be the point of contact for housing management services on a patch, including the enforcement of the Association's conditions of tenancy, particularly in relation to the condition of property and/or garden.
4. To liaise with colleagues and other agencies over any specific customer problems relating to complaints, rent arrears, anti-social behaviour, or repair requests.
We are looking for someone who has:
1. Full UK driver's licence and access to a car as the role is field-based.
2. Experience and knowledge of housing/lettings or ideally social housing.
3. Experience of working with a diverse range of customers and dealing with a variety of situations.
4. Experience in face-to-face customer service.
5. Solution-focused and experience in working with customers and stakeholders.
6. An ability to manage confidential and personal information appropriately and sensitively.
7. Personal resilience to deal with a fast-paced, demanding role juggling a number of tasks at once.
In return, we are offering the successful candidate in the Neighbourhood Officer role:
1. Hourly rate of £15.38.
2. Temporary ongoing position.
3. Annual pay scale increase.
4. 27 days holiday (rising to 32 over 5 years' service) + bank holidays.
5. You will be working 37 hours per week, Monday - Friday (occasional evening or weekend working depending on business needs).
