What is a Volunteer Reception Assistant? A Volunteer Reception Assistant at Derian House plays a key role in creating a welcoming and professional environment for visitors, including families, professionals, and supporters. They are the first point of contact and help ensure that every visitor feels comfortable. What's involved? Provide a warm & friendly reception service. Answering phone calls and handling enquiries. Keeping the reception and shop area tidy and well-stocked. Dealing with donations, ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed. Handling cash and card payment for shop purchases. Managing incoming and outgoing mail. This role will suit people who are ✔ Friendly, confident, helpful, and approachable. ✔ Comfortable meeting new people regularly. ✔ Reliable and able to commit to a weekly shift. ✔ Experienced in a similar role (preferred). ✔ Able to maintain confidentiality, respect, and dignity. ✔ Possessing excellent communication skills.
