The McDonald Center for Student Well-Being, within the Division of Student Affairs, is the health education, promotion and prevention department at the University of Notre Dame. The McDonald Center is charged with implementing population-based health and wellness initiatives for the student population toward a campus where all students can flourish. We are currently seeking a passionate professional to promote student well-being and empower student leaders. This is a full-time, 12-month position that will report to the Director and will require some evening and weekend hours., Student Leadership Development
* Lead development peer education program model.
* Train and recruit student peer leaders and educators and community engagement teams.
* Coordinate with the Program Coordinator for Health Education, Director of the McDonald Center for Student Well-being and the Health Promotion team.
Community Engagement
* Organize and coordinate student-led well-being initiatives by engaging student clubs, student organizations, residence hall staff and residents on well-being programs and resources.
* Assist in population-wide health promotion campaigns and interventions including the areas of stress, sleep, restoration, and student flourishing.
* Design, implement, and assess topical presentations and workshops to the campus community.
* Incorporate diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice concepts and principles into all programs and services.
Population-Level Data Collection and Analysis
* Facilitate regular quantitative assessment including promotion of WISHES and ACHA surveys.
* Conduct regular qualitative assessment and analysis including focus groups and other student sessions.
* Act as liaison for Notre Dame Institutional Research, Innovation and Strategy.
Other Opportunities
* Represent McDonald Center for Student Well-being on campus committees as needed.
* Participate in campus-wide instructor facilitation teams for programs such as GreeNDot, Mental Health First Aid, and Wellness and Resilience (Penn Resilience Program).
* Attend and present at regional and national conferences.
Graduate degree in Health Education, Health Promotion, Public Health, or related field.
* Minimum 3 years' experience in evidence- and theory-based health promotion for college students.
* Proven commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, and social justice, with ability to design culturally responsive initiatives.
* Strong leadership, interpersonal, and motivational skills for developing students and colleagues.
* Skilled in delivering presentations and educational programs to diverse audiences.
* Demonstrated ability to build effective collaborations with university and community partners.
* Proficient in assessment, research, and implementing best practices.
* Experience training and supervising staff and students.
* Detail-oriented with excellent communication, organization, and tech skills (MS Office, Google Suite).
* Dedicated to lifelong learning in the evolving health promotion field., Certification/License such as Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) or health/wellness coaching certification.
* 5 or more years in higher education health education, prevention and/or health promotion, peer education.
* Grant writing or grant management experience.
* Training in Brief Alcohol Screening and Intervention for College Students (BASICS) and/or Motivational Interviewing.
