Assistive Technology Trainer & Technical Assessor - Cardiff

An exciting opportunity for an Assistive Technology Trainer / Technical Assessor to join our multi-skilled team at Barry Bennett and Bennett Workplace Solutions.
Barry Bennett are one of the UK’s leading suppliers of assistive technology and specialist disability equipment for higher education institutions. Our products and services align with staff and students in higher education who require additional support and adjustments to enable them to fulfil their potential, either in education or employment.
You will work fluidly across Barry Bennett and Bennett Workplace solutions, providing online and in-person services to employees within large organisations, as well as staff and students within the higher education sector.
Main Responsibilities
* Carrying out DSE and ergonomic assessments, identifying and implementing positive changes to people’s working environment, enabling them to work and study more comfortably, whilst prioritising their health and wellbeing.
* Installation and setup of DSE / ergonomic office equipment such as specialist seating, workstations and ergonomic accessories, ensuring customers receive the guidance required to benefit fully from the supplied items.
* Providing specialist technical assessments for students and employees requiring assistive technology due to a hearing or visual impairment.
* Delivering online and in-person training on all popular assistive technology software platforms, such as text to speech and voice dictation applications.
* Travelling to client locations around the Reading and surrounding areas, as required by the business needs. This could result in travel ‘out of your area’ on occasion but additional time for travelling will be allocated.
* Although you will work as part of a team and be supported throughout, this role will require you to work independently.
Requirements:
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* A patient, friendly and professional manner.
* A proactive approach to resolving issues.
* A capacity to work well under pressure.
* Be able to adapt to individual customer requirements.
* A good standard of general IT skills.
* Be comfortable with extensive travel / driving as part of the position.
* Be confident in lone working.

* Company van to be supplied.
* Candidates must have a full UK driving license.

* This role will be subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS and reference check.
