Job Description
Qualified Social Worker, Blackpool Council, Awaken Child Exploitation & Missing From Home Team - Must be a Qualified Social Worker with a minimum of 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within a Children's Social Work team.
The team works extremely well together to ensure the safety of children under the close supervision of a supportive Team Manager.
The responsibilities will include:
1. Awaken is a multi-agency Child Exploitation and Missing from Home service led by Children's Social Care, Police, and Health whose primary function is to support children and young people who are at risk/victims of child criminal exploitation and/or child sexual exploitation and bring offenders to justice.
2. As a Social Worker on Awaken, within our new model of working, you will not be responsible for completing statutory functions, i.e., Children and Family Assessments; S47 enquiries; CIN plans and CP plans, as your work will be focused on building trusted meaningful relationships with the young person using a therapeutic model in order to build on their resilience and strengths to bring about positive change.
3. This exciting new way of working ensures that our Social Workers can dedicate the necessary time to children and young people who need our support the most. Our innovative and creative approaches allow us to engage young people outside of statutory constraints.
4. The team is looking to recruit a motivated individual with a diverse range of skills who is able to demonstrate a flexible approach and clear understanding of child exploitation and has a passion for working with adolescents.
5. Ability to write concise, fit-for-purpose reports/court statements and maintain up-to-date and accurate records.
6. Experience of inputting into children’s services data systems (Mosaic; ICS).
7. Liaise with other professionals.
8. 37 hours per week (flexible by negotiation).
9. 3-month Temporary Contract.
10. Start date subject to DBS and reference clearance.
