We are seeking a motivated, career-minded individual to join our dedicated team. Are you passionate about continuous learning, demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, and like a challenge?
In a busy and fast-paced environment, you will be supported through a competency-based training programme to integrate and work confidently within the team. We will offer you training to actively provide assistance for Cath Lab and Cardiology Day Case patients in the pre-, during, and post-procedure environment, including inpatients.

With support, you will be responsible for helping maintain a safe environment and assist as directed to care for and move equipment, supplies, blood, specimen products, and pharmacy items.
Supporting stock management within the Cath Labs and Cardiology Day Case will be an important part of the role. This is truly an exciting time for our service and our teams as we work to facilitate the smooth relocation of inpatient services to the new MMUH due to open in 2024.
We would welcome candidates who do not hold the Level 3 Senior Healthcare Support Worker qualification, as this could be offered during employment.

1. Act as a circulating person during procedures (when fully trained).
2. Perform venepuncture and cannulation.
3. Undertake recording of 12 lead ECGs.
4. Support transfer of patients to and from cath labs/day unit/wards.
5. Work with the team to ensure a high standard of cleanliness is maintained as per infection control.
6. Support stock levels and report issues to the senior team.
7. Ensure that equipment is clean at all times, stored safely, and faults are reported.
Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust (SWBT) is an integrated care organisation with a budget of approximately £600 million and over 7,000 staff. Diversity and social care is at the core of what we do, as the Trust provides Community and Acute Services to over half a million people in an urban centre that demands massive regeneration and has substantial premature mortality.
Our new acute hospital, the Midland Metropolitan University Hospital (MMUH), opens this year and will provide care to our local population from first-class, purpose-built premises. As a result, the base of this role may change to MMUH. If this is applicable to your role, you will be informed during the recruitment process and continue your application with this understanding.
The development of the new hospital will play an important role in the regeneration of the wider area and in improving the lives of local people and reducing health inequalities.
We have three strategic objectives:
1. Our People – to cultivate and sustain happy, productive, and engaged staff.
2. Our Patients – to be good or outstanding in everything we do.
3. Our Population – to work seamlessly with our partners to improve lives.
The job involves working within a supportive team. It will be an advantage if you have previous experience in an acute hospital setting. You will be an integral part of the team, contributing to the delivery of care and clinical activity and patient flow, in accordance with the agreed plan of care and appropriate policies, procedures, and protocols of the department.
