We are currently recruiting for a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to work for one of our NHS clients in the Bradford area.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* To assess, diagnose and manage the communication/dysphagia needs of children and young people aged 0 -18. To hold a specialist caseload which will also include some highly specialist complex cases.
* To participate in complex assessment and management of cases under the supervision of the Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist.
* To use appropriate multi-lingual assessments and therapeutic approaches. This would include the use of interpreters and culturally appropriate resources.
* To develop skills to represent SLT in multi-professional clinics / meetings, taking on this role as and when required.
* To contribute to Health Promotion for those who use the services of the Trust.
* To contribute to the early identification of SLT disorders in the general population.
* To develop and produce appropriate materials in order to promote access to effective therapy e.g. leaflets/bilingual resources.
* To ensure that full consent has been given to proceed with Speech and language therapy assessment, with particular regard to a communication impaired population.
* To identify and collect relevant information through formal and informal assessments in order to make a clinical judgement/differential diagnosis.
Requirements:
* Registered Speech and Language Therapist with Health Professionals Council.
* Registered with RCSLT.
* SLT Degree/dip Qualification.
* Experience supporting pre-grad SLT students, clinical support workers and junior colleagues.
* In depth experience of working with a range of paediatric communication/disorders and/or dysphagia, aged 0 - 18.
As part of the recruitment process, candidates must provide a three-year employment history covering any gaps in employment.
This role will require a DBS check prior to employment.
