Weare a friendly, forward-thinking GP Practice based in the heart of thecommunity. We now have an exciting opportunity for a conscientious, friendly and hardworking receptionist to join our practice team at John Amery Drive.
We have some flexibility with the role and are ideally looking for around hours during the week.
(Starting salary is circa £ pro-rata although this is dependant on experience.)

Job responsibilities
Job Summary:
Receive, assist and direct patients inaccessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous,efficient and effective way.
Providegeneral assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendlyimage to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone
KeyResponsibilities:
1. To have a thorough knowledge of all Practice procedures and protocols, working within them all times.
2. Ensure an effective and efficient reception service is provided to patients and any other visitors to the practice
3. Deal with all general enquiries, explain procedures and make new and follow-up appointments.
4. Ensure patients are signposted to the right clinician and seen in a timeframe appropriate to their symptoms
5. Explain practice arrangements and formal requirements to new patients and those seeking temporary cover and ensure procedures are completed.
6. Receive and make telephone calls as required. Divert calls and take messages, ensuring accuracy of detail and prompt appropriate delivery.
7. Prepare lists and notes for all surgeries and clinics held, ensuring completion of all associated paperwork.
8. Ensure all correspondence, reports, results etc are filed promptly and in the correct records, ensuring that all recent correspondence is available when patients are seen.
9. Open up premises at the start of the day when first to arrive, de-activate alarm and make all necessary preparations to receive last to leave at the end of the day, ensure that the building is totally secured, internal lights are off and the alarm activated.
10. Undertake any other additional duties appropriate to the post as requested by the Partners or the Practice Manager.
