Westray Recruitment Group are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Mechanical Design Engineer with an entrepreneurial mindset to join our client in the Lancashire area.
This role requires a proactive individual who is passionate about engineering and has a keen interest in driving new product development and innovation.
They are rapidly establishing themselves as a worldwide leader in their field.
You will have a strong background in mechanical design, coupled with the ability to develop new concepts from scratch
You can generate innovative mechanical design concepts and solutions from initial idea through to prototype and production
You will create detailed mechanical designs using CAD software, perform simulations, and analyse results to ensure optimal performance and reliability
You can develop and test prototypes to validate design concepts and make necessary adjustments
You will lead and manage projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget and quality standards
You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software developers, and product managers, to integrate mechanical designs into overall product architecture.
You will identify and pursue new business opportunities, contribute to strategic planning, and support the commercialization of new products
You will stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve design processes and product offerings
You need a minimum of 5 years’ experience in mechanical design engineering, with a proven track record of developing new products from concept to production
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks, AutoCAD), FEA tools, and other relevant engineering software
Experience in managing projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation
Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and best practices in mechanical design and product development
