Location: Nottingham
Hybrid Working: 2 days WFH, 3 days onsite
Salary: £28,000 - £45,000

We are looking for a Graduate or Junior Hardware Product Specialist to join our team and contribute to our growing portfolio of advanced sensing technology. In this role, you will work alongside world-class Engineering, Sales, and Marketing teams to shape innovative products, drive success, and help customers harness the power of advanced sensing solutions.
What You’ll Be Doing:
* Be the Expert – Provide technical insights and hands-on support for our Advanced Sensing product line.
* Collaborate & Innovate – Work closely with Product Management, Development, and Supply Chain teams to scale solutions.
* Solve Real-World Challenges – Support global Engineering teams with deployment, troubleshooting, and technical problem-solving.
* Shape the Future – Analyse market trends, product performance, and customer feedback to drive innovation.
* Create Impactful Content – Develop high-quality technical sales materials and customer value propositions.
* Be the Voice of the Product – Represent the company at industry events and customer meetings.
* Drive Product Evolution – Gather valuable customer insights to inform future product roadmaps.
The Ideal Candidate:
* Degree in Electronics, Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related field.
* 0-3+ years of design experience before transitioning into a product role.
* Strong knowledge of analogue or digital electronics.
* Experience with communication protocols.
* Understanding of mechanical, physics, or electronics principles (experience with sensors is a plus).
* Confident, with strong written and verbal communication skills, as this is a client-facing role.
* A fast learner with a passion for new technology.
* Ability to work independently and within cross-functional global teams.
* A proactive, action-oriented approach to meeting deadlines.
Additional Responsibilities:
* Progressed to Product Specialist as part of the hardware product management team.
* Managed existing products with a technical focus, including:
* Creating sales slides and conducting sales enablement sessions.
* Presenting at conferences/events, using solution-led storytelling to highlight value propositions.
* Developing standardized pricing to maintain healthy profit margins.
* Using market analysis and business cases to guide prioritization.
* Project managed a hardware consolidation project (in progress), which involved:
* Defining requirements for a modular condition monitoring system to replace five existing products.
* Evaluating forecasted cost reductions and ensuring targets were met.
* Navigating challenges such as cashflow issues and team redundancies.
* Led a grant-funded wind turbine blade condition monitoring R&D project (in progress), responsible for:
* Conducting market analysis and business cases to justify the project.
* Arranging exploratory customer calls to gauge trial interest and understand customer needs.
* Coordinating field installations, including subcontractors, engineers, and turbine operators, and securing RAMS approvals.
* Claiming £400k+ in research funding grants by achieving project milestones.
