Key Account Manager
Full time/Permanent
Based in Chorley
Mon-Fri 36 hours contract with an early finish on a Friday (Flexi-time, 30-minute lunch breaks and finishing at half 1pm on Fridays)
Onsite/Hybrid after training
Salary £25-30K (deoendent on experience)
This is a Permanent position and salary will be awarded dependent on experience.
Summary
To report to the Commercial Manager, working closely with the Sales Manager to play an integral role in managing and developing Key Account functions. A professional, experienced and proactive approach is required with a proven track record of account management at a successful level. Tasks will include forecasting, costing, monthly sales reporting, monthly stock reporting, liaising with production planning to ensure stock levels maintained and preparing presentations as and when necessary. Travel will be expected on a weekly level within the UK and possible overseas travel as and when required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Forecasting - liaise with the customer to agree a realistic forecast, analyse and question the forecast. Advise if under or over forecast and potential future impact on service level.
2. Manage agreed stock levels, safety stock levels, liaise closely with Supply Chain, customer service and stock control to meet the agreed SLA.
3. Agree SLA on stock supported and special items.
4. Liaise with customer service and stock control to manage call off contract agreements.
5. Regular review of order books - liaise with customer service and stock control. Visit the customer with orderbooks to discuss performance levels. Recognise points of escalation.
6. Monitor Service Level -report any issues to Commercial Manager. Manage KPI's as necessary (OTIF/lates/complaints/innovation/delivery/cost).
7. Work closely with the Sales Manager to provide data for monthly sales analysis to the Sales Director.
8. Pricing - review sales prices.
9. Costing - responsible for monitoring costs reporting into the commercial and sales manager.
10. Manage aged stock and slow moving obsolete goods.
11. Support administration activities where required on key accounts.
12. Process Mapping -Introduce, define, implement, monitor efficient account management processes in liaison with all departments. Balance the set priorities for the customer and our business.
13. Manage Tender Pack Submissions with all the relevant departments.
Qualifications, Education, Skills and Competencies
14. Graduate or professional business qualification preferable.
15. Computer Literate, Good excel ability is essential.
16. Proven track record of successful account management.
17. Customer facing experience essential to further develop the relationship.
18. Self-motivated, ambitious, driven and confident individual.
19. Takes responsibility for own actions.
20. Committed to delivering high quality results to both customers and colleagues. Comfortable at mid-senior level interaction.
