SEMH Learning Support Assistant. January Start. Temporary-Permanent contract.

Hays Education has recently seen an increased need for local SEMH Learning Support Assistants in schools across Northamptonshire for day-to-day and long-term supply.
We work with a number of schools across Northamptonshire, covering the areas of Northampton, Corby, Kettering, Wellingborough, Rushden, Daventry, Towcester, Brackley, and all the in between! This means as a Teaching Assistant working through Hays, you will have local work in your area covering schools that only you want to work in.
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a SEMH (Social, Emotional, Mental Health) Secondary School in Towcester for young people aged 11-18 with behavioural, emotional, and social difficulties who have not been able to settle happily into mainstream provision. The school is a growing establishment with over 63 students and has a vocational hub provision on site, following the National Curriculum, which enables its students to develop skills in areas they are passionate about, such as Motor Vehicle Studies, Construction, Hair and Beauty, and Engineering.
Your new role
We are currently recruiting for full-time SEMH Learning Support Assistants to join the team ASAP on a temporary-permanent basis. We are looking for exceptional people who thrive in challenging settings to work with the school's exceptional pupils.

The appointed person will be expected to make a real and positive impact on the lives of children who have a range of care needs, life experiences, and personalities that make every day varied and interesting. You will be able to successfully build trusting student relationships and motivate and encourage students as required by providing levels of individual attention, reassurance, and help with living and learning tasks as appropriate.
What you'll need to succeed
The appointed candidates will have a minimum of 1 year of experience working with children and young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs and/or challenging behaviour.
