Asset Care Lead Engineer Humdinger, Sherburn LS25 6PJ Humdinger are looking for a proactive and experienced Asset Care Lead Engineer to join our team and play a key leadership role on the factory floor. As the Asset Care Lead Engineer, you’ll be the go-to person on your shift for technical guidance and engineering leadership. You’ll attend daily operations meetings, work closely with Shift Managers to identify and proactively address issues impacting performance, and take ownership of breakdowns, handovers, and planned activities. This position is ideal for a time-served, multi-skilled engineer – ideally with an electrical bias (though mechanical bias with solid electrical understanding will also be considered). You will take the lead in driving performance, mentoring junior team members (including our apprentices), and partnering with the Shift Managers in managing day-to-day priorities. Position type: Full time, permanent Shift Pattern: This role operates on a rotating shift pattern, including a mix of 12 hour Day and Night shifts with rest days. Pay range : £47,610.00 Monitoring PPM completion throughout the shift and raising any concerns to the Engineering Manager. Ensuring detailed shift handovers and clear communication of current issues with the Shift Manager. Communicating downtime clearly to the Shift Manager and Engineering Manager. Implementing and maintaining company Health & Safety policies. Auditing contractor control policies to ensure full adherence to site policies and procedures. Maintaining and operating all assets and installations to requirements. Submitting relevant data into the CMMS system. Leading the shift for Asset Care Engineers. Completing contamination investigations within policy timescales. Upholding the workshop cleaning schedule and conducting tool control audits on each shift. Essential: Multi-skilled engineering apprenticeship. Electrical bias preferred, or at a minimum, basic fault-finding skills, safe installation practices, and experience with three-phase motors. Manufacturing experience. CMMS experience. Logical thought process with excellent communication skills at all levels. Proactive approach and high standards. Leadership experience (Team Leader, Supervisor etc) Ability to work well within a fast-moving production environment where flexibility is key. Strong work ethic with a can-do attitude and the ability to work as part of a team as well as independently. Desirable: HNC/HND Qualification. HACCP Qualification. Health & Safety IOSH/NEBOSH. Leadership training. Metal Detection training. PLC programming skills. Flow wrapper experience. Bag former experience.
