Branch Manager

We are pleased to be working with the Penrith Building Society as they seek an experienced leader to manage their single branch, based in the heart of the local community.
The main purpose of the role is to lead and manage all aspects of the branch-based services they offer, which includes both savings and mortgage. You will provide leadership and ensure the smooth running of all counter operations and go above and beyond for all customers. The role will be heavily focused on the savings side, and it would be very beneficial if you had experience and knowledge of savings transactions.
This is very much a front of house role, engaging with customers, offering assistance, advice, and working closely with Penrith’s Engagement Manager and Marketing Manager to promote all branch services. Ideally, part of this role will also involve providing mortgage advice to customers.
The role is full-time, 9.00 am – 5.30 pm based in branch, with a requirement to work one Saturday circa every 6 weeks, with time off in lieu during the week.
Main duties will include:
1. Commitment to excellent customer service and ensuring good customer outcomes.
2. Lead the development of the branch as a key distribution channel – through simplification of processes and controls and development of customer journeys specifically for vulnerable customers which sit alongside the standard approach.
3. Development of the Branch customer service team via ongoing observations and training opportunities.
4. Ensuring adequate staff levels, customer services representative role rotation, cash flow monitoring.
5. Provide weekly MI on transactions through the branch channel.
The successful individual will possess:
1. Previous leadership experience within a financial services branch setting.
2. Ideally holding the CeMap qualification, or a willingness to study and gain this qualification.
