Description Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior Civil/Structural Designer on for a PSC Contract working outside IR35. The role will be for an onshore project and a bias towards Civils design is preferred. Provide Civil / Structural Design Expertise Provide input to Civil/Structural and layout studies Define Civil/Structural design requirements for technical scopes Development of deliverables and documentation required for use in work packs and in the supply chain Support the development of and/or develop requisitions for the procurement of Civil/Structural related material and equipment Undertake design checking of Civil/Structural deliverables Provide support to the Lead Civil/Structural Engineer and the project delivery team Provide Civil/Structural design technical expertise to the project Resolve Civil/Structural related design issues by applying accepted principles, codes and standards Adhere to procedures to assure technical integrity of Civil/Structural designs Provide support for interdisciplinary considerations through attendance at required design reviews and undertaking inter discipline checking Maintain own knowledge and understanding to meet competence requirements of Principal Civil/Structural Designer Provide feedback on lessons learnt to aid in continuous improvement Assess progress and associated reports and advise of any slippages, correct inefficiency and take any resulting agreed actions Modelling in E3D and producing 2D and 3D deliverables based on scan data and existing drawings. Prepare 2D detail drawings in AutoCAD for steel piperack bolted/welded connections and baseplate details, RC foundation GA’s, reinforcement layouts and bar bending schedules, road, drainage, and trenching layouts and details. Develop detailed civil 3D models for onshore projects, ensuring compliance with British and Eurocode design standards, and company/client specifications. Engage with other disciplines to integrate civil models into the overall facility design. Create documentation, including bills of materials, and parts lists, to support concept/detailed design and construction. Act as design checker/approver Provide technical support during the construction phase, collaborating with construction teams to ensure accurate implementation of the civil design. Participate in design audits and assessments, and implement improvements Contribute to civil/structural related risk assessments. Assist with preparation of lift plans, rigging arrangements and installation/removal drawings. Intellectually capable, can substantiate the ability to apply theory in a particular context. Knowledge of civil engineering construction, including roads, drainage, trenching and foundation design (ground beams, slabs, pile caps etc), working platforms and crane pads. Experience of onshore regulations (CDM) and industry standards related to civil engineering design. Strong communication and collaboration skills with an attention to detail Experience : Demonstrable balance of industrial experience at relevant level and position Proven experience as a Civil Designer for onshore facilities. Proficiency in AutoCAD. E3D, E3D Draw and Navisworks experience preferred but not essential.
