Job Description
Due to continued growth our Minworth site are now recruiting for a Senior Transport Coordinator on a full time permanent basis.
Salary: £36,600 plus a £2,000 night shift allowance.
Working hours: Any 5 in 7 nights, 10pm-6am.
As a Senior Transport Coordinator you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the transport operation, ensuring that service levels are achieved and maintained, as well as planning driver and vehicle resource to achieve delivery / collection times.
Key Duties of a Senior Transport Coordinator:
Optimising resource and adherence of WTD and drivers’ hours legislation.
Creating an effective transport plan to achieve on time delivery and collection performance expectations.
Providing 24/7 communication Transport link with Customer Services and Sales Order Processing.
Monitoring retailer arrival and departure times, ensuring deliveries are made within the specified windows.
Providing the admin team with a collection arrival schedule to maintain and achieve KPIs.
Arranging deliveries using nominated contractors for special instruction deliveries, re-deliveries or LIW.
Liaising with pallet staff to ensure depot has sufficient pallet balances.
Ensuring any investigations and disciplinaries are carried out in the correct manner.
Completing Risk Assessments.
Ensuring all accidents, incidents and near misses are logged and reported.
Qualifications
Significant knowledge & experience of tachograph/ driving rules and regulations.
Previous management/ supervisory experience desirable.
Attention to detail/accuracy.
Planning and organisation skills.
Excellent communication skills in order to deliver accurate information.
Good IT skills including Microsoft office packages.
Effectively prioritise work load in order to meet set deadlines.
Be professional, approachable and helpful to ensure smooth running of the general operation.
Significant transport experience in FMCG environment.
