An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Leeds CYPMHS as we undergo a service redesign. We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Consultant Psychiatrists to join our Eating Disorders and Crisis/Liaison teams, providing clinical leadership and high-quality care to children and young people.
About the Role
These posts offer an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people experiencing significant mental health challenges. You will hold a caseload, support new assessments and reviews, and provide strategic direction for service development. You will also contribute to multi-disciplinary team (MDT) meetings, providing clinical leadership across local and whole-service levels.
The Eating Disorders role focuses on young people with Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, and Binge Eating Disorder, ensuring comprehensive assessments and tailored interventions. The Crisis/Liaison role involves working with young people presenting with acute mental health crises, supporting timely interventions and collaborative decision-making.
Posts are available for up to 10 sessions per week, with flexible and part-time/job-share arrangements encouraged. On-call responsibilities apply.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide strategic direction and professional clinical leadership.
* Deliver high-quality, direct clinical care across Leeds.
* Maintain high standards of clinical record-keeping in line with Trust policies.
* Work collaboratively to ensure smooth and efficient service delivery.
* Actively participate in local and service-wide meetings and engagement forums.
* Contribute to service development through a quality improvement approach.
* Supervise, appraise, and support junior medical staff.
* Undertake Mental Health Act and Responsible Clinician duties as required.
* Provide specialist prescribing knowledge, working collaboratively to support complex and high-risk cases.
* Attend system meetings, in person or virtually, to support multi-agency collaboration.

Additional Information
You will have an identified base but will work citywide. Training and support will be provided for those unfamiliar with healthcare systems. There are opportunities for postgraduate teaching and research development.
