The role of Commis Chef is to support the line chefs in running various stations of a busy new kitchen in a 110 cover new restaurant concept. The food style is very high quality freshly prepared small plates with a Mexican/Californian inspiration. Food is served family style, and is cooked/served fresh to order with plates going to tables as they are ready with a quick turnaround, based on daily preparation in advance. You will assist in food prep, some cooking, maintaining cleanliness & hygiene & stock rotation. You will also be learning various cooking techniques and recipes under the supervision of more experienced chefs, gaining knowledge of the menu, kitchen procedures, and quality standards as well as participating in training to develop skills in different areas of the kitchen. This will be a fast paced kitchen with high standards, so you must be prepared for this style. Experience of similar small plate service or Mexican cuisine would be advantageous but not essential. Total salary package to include Tronc £11.50 ph. Part time applications will be welcomed.
