Blossom Care Group
We provide support and care services to children, young people, and their families. We have a number of residential properties in the Derbyshire, Staffordshire, and West Midlands areas.

The Team

Training
We provide any training required for the role that includes funding Level 3, 4, or 5 QCF/NVQ Residential Childcare Qualifications.
Main Duties
1. Responsible for working alongside the Manager of the children's residential home, ensuring that our service users receive the highest standard of support/care appropriate to their individual needs.
2. A genuine empathy for young people, supporting them to achieve their goals and ambitions.
3. Build and develop relationships with our young people and encourage them to participate fully in the opportunities offered within the home.
4. Plan and participate fully in a working rota, including evenings, sleep-ins, and weekends.
5. Build strong working relationships with external agencies such as Local Authorities and other Health/Social Care professionals.
6. Conduct formal key work sessions with young people and produce reports for each session.
7. Be responsible for the effective safeguarding of the young people within your care and understand how to raise any concerns.
8. Support our young people with everyday tasks such as cooking, cleaning, medical appointments, and meetings.
Shift patterns & Pay:
Shift patterns are normally 1 day on and 2 days off, with 155 contracted working hours per month. First-year earnings for a qualified RSW are £34,596.25 at £12.50 per hour. Non-qualified rate is £11.50 per hour. Sleeps ins are paid at £60 per night, and On Call cover is paid at £35 per night.
Ideal experience preferred
1. Experience of working within a children and young adult residential environment.
2. An understanding of relevant legislation relating to the care of young people.
3. Experience of working with young people that have social, emotional, and/or behavioural difficulties.
Should have
1. Full driving license – Ideally
2. Own transport – Ideally
3. Able to work at least 3 shifts in a week and sleep-ins.
4. DBS Certificate (preferred)
5. DBS Update Service (preferred)
Level 3 Diploma/NVQ’s:
Residential Childcare Diploma or Children and Young People’s Workforce Diploma with Social Care Pathway or Caring for Children and Young People or Health & Social Care (prior to 2014).
Level 4 Diploma/NVQ’s:
Leadership and Management for Care Services or Health and Social Care (Children’s Pathway) or Children, Young People & Families Practitioner.
Level 5 Diploma/NVQ’s:
Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare or Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services with Advanced Practice Pathway.
