**Head of Court of Protection – Merseyside Ref. 700
**Salary:** Negotiable based on experience, ranging from£48,000 - £65,000
Our Legal Services Client are currently seeking a head ofcourt protection for their head offices in Birkenhead.
**Job Purpose:**
To lead the professional Court of Protection team(professional deputyship and trusteeship), ensuring delivery of high-qualityservice to clients. Responsible for legal training, supervision, operationalperformance, financial targets, business development, and case intake for thedepartment. Contribute to the firm's overall success.
**Key Responsibilities:**
**Performance Management**
- Ensure professional standards of work by the Court ofProtection team through regular file reviews
- Provide case supervision, advice, and guidance to feeearners on technical/professional matters
- Devise and implement structured training programs tomaintain team knowledge
- Create/maintain best practice templates, letters, andensure implementation
- Conduct performance appraisals, set objectives/targets forthe team
- Contribute to maintaining Lexcel accreditation
**Risk and Compliance**
- Manage High Risk Register for Court of Protection matters
- Supervise anti-money laundering, due diligence, andauthorize high-risk matters
- Investigate allegations of professional negligence andreport to MD
- Investigate and report potential data protection breaches
- Ensure Lexcel, case management system, and proceduralcompliance
- Assist Finance Manager with regulatory compliance foraccounts/transactions
**Client Management**
- Devise and implement strategies for efficient casemanagement, fee recovery, and client service
- Investigate client complaints, report to MD, and draftresponses per procedures
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients andstakeholders
**Skills and Qualifications:**
- Expertise in Court of Protection law and practice
- Excellent leadership, training, and supervisory skills
- Strong communication and client relationship managementabilities
- Proficiency in using firm's systems, software, andoperating independently
**Additional Information:**
This role requires producing own work with minimaladministrative support. Proficiency in using computer systems and software isessential. Regular reporting to the Managing Director.
