Job Title: Test Technician
Location: Portsmouth
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: Up to £26,195 per annum (depending on experience)

Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Microelectronic Circuit Test Technician to join our Test department. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, testing, and fault-finding microelectronic circuits, ensuring all test work is performed correctly, to the correct standards, and within a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities:
6. Implement ESD / Static safe working practices.
7. Set up Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) station.
8. Test microelectronic circuits using Automatic Test Equipment to ensure functionality and reliability of electronic components.
9. Conduct testing and fault-finding on non-functioning printed circuit boards and electronic modules/components to identify issues and repair if appropriate.
10. Work independently to complete functional tests of microelectronic circuits to specification.
11. Maintain Test Program and Burn-in database log.
12. Ensure test results are reported as required by internal and external standards.
13. Control environmental testing - Burn-in, Temperature Cycling, Acceleration, data loggers, etc.
14. Check equipment is fit for purpose - run self-tests, monitor test equipment, and segregate faulty equipment, liaising with Engineering/Process Engineering functions to resolve issues.
15. Report inconsistencies or discrepancies in any findings of equipment or procedures.
16. Collaborate with other departments as needed.
Skills and Abilities:
17. Efficient and accurate testing, fault-finding, and repair abilities.
18. Experience in testing and fault-finding electronic circuits.
19. Working knowledge and experience of using test equipment (Power supplies, Voltmeters, Oscilloscopes, function generators).
20. Proficiency in complex electrical wiring and electronics schematics.
21. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to liaise with staff at all levels with technical and non-technical understanding.
22. Strong problem-solving skills.
23. Ability to work accurately and effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
24. Good computer literacy in Windows and Linux with standard office applications and custom applications.
25. Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
26. Positive, proactive, and flexible work ethic.
Qualifications: Suitable candidates will have worked within an Electronics Test role previously and ideally hold qualifications in a relevant electronics/engineering discipline.
Working Hours:
27. 7.45am - 4.45pm (Monday to Thursday)
28. 7.45am - 12.30pm (Friday)
