What you'll do As a Town Planner, your main responsibility will be to secure the necessary statutory planning consents for property development programmes across all formats, ensuring compliance with planning laws and processes. You will coordinate consultant teams, advise on the likelihood of securing planning permissions and associated risks. An important part of your role will be representing the business with key stakeholders and local communities. Additionally, you will manage budgets related to planning applications, keep abreast of changing planning legislation, discharge ongoing liabilities resulting from planning permissions, and provide advice to store managers to optimise sales opportunities within operating restrictions. Your role will involve strategic decision-making, effective communication, and proactive management to support the business objectives and facilitate successful property development initiatives. Who you are As a Town Planner, you are a highly knowledgeable and experienced professional with a with a deep understanding of planning processes, legislation, and the property market. Your ability to navigate the complexities of securing planning permissions and consents while aligning them with the wider business objectives showcasing your great commercial awareness and strategic mindset. With excellent communication skills and the capability to engage with key stakeholders at both local and corporate levels, you play a crucial role in representing the business and ensuring compliance with planning laws and regulations.
