The Titration Team Deputy Lead will be a key member of the leadership team within a large, multidisciplinary ADHD Titration Service. This role supports Consultant Psychiatrists by providing independent and supplementary prescribing interventions to a significant caseload of patients diagnosed with ADHD. The post holder will be an experienced ADHD prescriber, responsible for carrying out reviews and initiating and stabilising treatment. They must have practical experience prescribing ADHD medications for both CAMHS and adult patients and be confident in working within national prescribing guidelines. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the development of a high-quality, patient-centred service and to play a vital role in improving outcomes for individuals with ADHD. This is a home-based role (applicants must reside in the UK), though occasional travel may be required for face-to-face meetings at various locations within the UK. As our The Titration Team Deputy Lead you will: Leadership and Governance : Support the Team Lead in the development, leadership, and governance of the Titration Service. Deputise for the Team Lead as needed, offering leadership support and guidance to team members, to ensure quality and consistency in care. Policy and Process Development : Collaborate with the Team Lead to develop, implement, and review policies, processes, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the Titration Service, promoting safe, effective, and evidence-based practice. Team Recruitment, Induction, and Performance Management : Oversee recruitment, induction, and performance management for new team members. Ensure comprehensive induction to Psychiatry UK and the Clinical Titration Service, addressing any competency issues and escalating concerns to the Team Leader when necessary. Escalation of Clinical Risks : Manage and escalate significant clinical risks, safeguarding concerns, and competency issues according to Psychiatry UK’s Escalation Policy, working closely with the Safeguarding Lead when needed. Patient Engagement and Communication : Provide clear, evidence-based clinical advice to patients and support positive patient engagement and experience. Ensure informed choice through clear communication of treatment and support options, in line with NICE guidelines and PUK policies. Collaboration with Internal and External Teams : Foster collaborative relationships within Psychiatry UK and with external NHS agencies and care providers, ensuring a seamless, coordinated service for patients. Liaise with the Titration Admin Team, Resolutions Team, and Consultant Leads regarding complaints and potential complaints. Adherence to Confidentiality Standards : Uphold Caldicott principles, ensuring that patient information is handled legally, ethically, and confidentially across the service. Support and Development of Team Members : Provide clinical supervision, development, and performance support to team members, ensuring continuous professional development (CPD) compliance. Lead on the management and supervision of clinical staff, ensuring quality standards are consistently met. Professional Development and Compliance : Maintain personal CPD and participate in mandatory training, supervision, and the Psychiatry UK appraisal process to meet professional standards and revalidation requirements. Patient Record Management : Document patient contacts accurately and contemporaneously in the MedQare portal to ensure high-quality record-keeping and continuity of care. Workload Management : Plan and prioritise workload effectively, adjusting to shifting priorities as needed to ensure tasks are completed safely and efficiently. Representation and Values : Act as an ambassador for Psychiatry UK, upholding and promoting the values, aims, and vision of the organisation with integrity, honesty, and high standards of conduct. To succeed as our Titration Team Deputy Lead, you will be: Compassionate, resilient, and committed to supporting and empowering patients throughout their treatment journey. Able to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to work autonomously, remain calm under pressure, and apply initiative with meticulous attention to detail. Strong organisational and time management skills are essential, including the ability to prioritise, multi-task, and plan work efficiently. A proactive, problem-solving approach is expected, particularly when addressing challenges in a clinical setting. The post holder must also demonstrate a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity in all professional interactions. Maintaining the necessary professional registrations for continued practice as a registered health professional is essential, as is a willingness to engage in regular professional and clinical supervision as provided by Psychiatry UK. Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience: Experienced Registered Nurse with current, valid NMC registration, or another Allied Health Professional Independent & Supplementary Non-Medical Prescribing (V300) qualification. Previous experience working in specialist ADHD services, including experience within a specialist ADHD service. Demonstrated experience working with individuals with mental illness, ideally in acute mental health settings. Strong understanding of the Mental Health Act 1983 and current nursing practices related to mental health care. Proven administrative skills with a strong track record, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Desirable Qualifications, Skills and Experience: Further education relating to leadership or advanced clinical skills.
