What you will be doing:
An opportunity has arisen for a Design Manager to join Galliford Try within our Oak Business, ideally based in or around Uxbridge.
* Lead the design management of high-rise building projects as the Main Contractor.
* Manage planning, BCO, NHBC, BSR approvals, and identify critical timeframes, managing the discharge process.
* Review and coordinate consultant and contractor design outputs, ensuring alignment and managing approvals.
* Collaborate with the Façade design department to align design expectations with delivery schedules.
* Provide construction-conscious guidance during RIBA stages, reviewing designs for buildability and minimizing complex details.
* Establish and manage the design programme and information release schedule aligned with the master construction plan.
* Prioritize workload and manage multiple projects across different RIBA stages.
* Develop documentation for contractor proposals and manage project fee schedules and approvals.
* Ensure compliance with ERs, CPs, statutory requirements, and manage RFIs/TQs.
About You:
* Extensive experience as a Design Manager on diverse projects.
* Fire remediation experience is advantageous but not essential.
* Experience with BSR application management is beneficial.
* Line management and team leadership experience.
* Degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management.
* Field view experience is essential.
* Strong planning, organizational, and project management skills.
* Analytical problem-solving ability.
* Client-focused with excellent relationship-building skills.
* Decisive and able to work independently and collaboratively.
* Effective leadership capabilities.
