Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant – Secondary School GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join the SEN provision of a secondary school in Andover, Hampshire. This is a full-time position, with an immediate start or from February, depending on notice periods. The pay rate ranges from £83.85 to £93.85 per day, based on experience. A permanent contract will be offered after a successful probation period. Responsibilities of a SEN Teaching Assistant (TA): Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEN. Assist with implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and tailored learning strategies. Support students in class to ensure they fully engage with lessons and activities. Help students with specific needs such as communication, mobility, or personal care where necessary. Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and the SENCO. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student well-being. Work collaboratively with staff to ensure the needs of SEN students are met. Assist in the preparation of resources and classroom activities for SEN students. Required Qualifications for a SEN Teaching Assistant (TA): Experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN) is essential. Previous experience in a care or educational support role is beneficial. Patience, empathy, and a strong desire to make a difference in students’ lives. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. A proactive and flexible approach to supporting students in a variety of learning environments. A commitment to supporting students' academic, social, and emotional development. Have an updated CV (covering last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
