Area Site Technician
Salary: £38,376.94 per annum

The Vacancy
Job Purpose:
This is a key position, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across a number of site locations. You will be the first line in all maintenance issues throughout your allocated sites. You may be required to request specialist attendance following initial call out. This role also provides reactive and planned maintenance to food services and catering equipment for which training is provided.
The purpose of this role is to carry out technical repairs and PPM’s. You will ensure that all technical and compliance paperwork is completed and up to date at all times. All work will be completed to the highest standards in an efficient and cost-effective manner, whilst complying with all Health and Safety legislation.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Attend training courses as necessary by the company and ensure personal job skills keep pace with technical developments.
2. Prioritise maintenance and repair work to achieve agreed timescales and response times. Complete all necessary PPM’s and reactive maintenance schedules within agreed timescales.
3. Complete the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule within agreed timescales.
4. Respond promptly and positively to service call requests from the Helpdesk and assess the requirements of the job.
5. Identify non-repairable faults in plant and machinery and advise the Line Manager with recommendations regarding suitable replacement.
6. Advise the on-site customer of any repair and maintenance issues likely to affect the smooth running of the site.
7. Carry out surveys and complete reports as required by City management.
8. Work with company and customer employees to ensure laid-down standards of quality are maintained.
9. Carry out minor alterations and installations within the individual’s technical competence.
10. Complete general repairs and maintenance on trained Food Services assets.
11. Comply with the BER policy and guidelines on managing catering and bakery assets.
12. Complete general repairs and maintenance to customer sites as designated by City management.
13. Represent the company in a professional manner at all times.
14. Monitor and update the Mercury system including live job updates.
15. Comply with the company Health and Safety Policy at all times.
16. Conduct emergency lighting tests ensuring any requirements for repairs are logged.
17. Ensure compliance documentation is completed and up to date.
18. Follow purchase order process.
19. Be part of a 1 in 4 standby on-call rota.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1. Educated to GCSE / Standard Grade level as a minimum, NVQ Level 3/City and Guilds 236 Part 1 + 2 or equivalent in electrical installation/Maintenance.
2. City and Guilds 2382 18th edition.
3. 3 phase electrics and its applications.
4. Ability to maintain and repair a wide range of electrical and food services mechanical equipment.
5. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
6. Full driving license.
