Salary: 70,000 to 100,000 plus Benefits
The Role: We're looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Overhead Lines (OHL) Project Manager to play a key role in delivering vital electrical infrastructure projects. Initially, you'll support projects across Scotland and England, making sure everything runs smoothly, safely, and on time. You'll be reporting to the Senior OHL Project Manager and will be responsible for upholding high standards and ensuring both T&D and client goals are met.
What You'll Be Doing:
1. Preparing plans for strategic bids and tenders.
2. Managing projects through all stages to ensure key milestones are met.
3. Approving the scope of work, plans, and estimates.
4. Ensuring project planning, risk, and change management processes are followed.
5. Managing resources effectively and resolving conflicting priorities.
6. Keeping things on track with consistent project reporting.
7. Leading and guiding the team to resolve any issues that come up.
8. Leading by example when it comes to safety and promoting a positive safety culture.
9. Ensuring high standards of quality and professionalism throughout the project.
10. Keeping an eye on compliance with NEC Contract terms, Programme of Works, Quality Plan, and Project Risk Register.
What You Need:
1. Engineering Qualification (Degree / HND / HNC) or equivalent industry experience.
2. Recognised SHE Qualification (e.g., IOSH, NEBOSH).
3. Project Management Qualification.
4. Solid understanding of commercial and contractual matters.
5. Proven ability to lead and develop project teams, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
6. Willingness to travel and work away from home when needed.
7. Experience with SSE, SPEN, or NGED and leading OHL project teams through all phases.
8. Knowledge of Local Authority permit requirements and NEC Forms of Contract.
9. Experience managing OHL project design, budgets, and maintaining strong relationships with clients and subcontractors.
10. Good understanding of engineering principles, CDM, client technical standards, policies, and safety rules.
11. Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
12. Familiarity with OHL installation techniques, street works, permit submissions, and council liaison.
13. A solid understanding of financial and commercial matters.
14. Full UK driving licence.

Qualifications:

3. Project Management: Proven success in leading large 132/275/400kV OHL projects.
4. Commercial Awareness: A good understanding of the financial and contractual side of things.

6. Experience: Familiarity with SSE, SPEN, NGED, and other Distribution Network Operators.
7. Technical Knowledge: A solid grasp of engineering principles, CDM, and client technical standards.
8. Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
9. Driving Licence: A full UK driving licence is essential.
