Blaise Veterinary Referral Hospital is a large-scale, multi-disciplinary, specialist-led referral hospital which encompasses the culture and values we pride ourselves on at IVC Evidensia. Blaise has added to our extensive referral network, which now consists of over 100 referral sites across the UK & Ireland. In addition to our referral teams on site, the 24-hour hospital is home to our Vets Now at Blaise emergency service.
In partnership with Vets Now, the UK's leading provider of emergency pet care, our out-of-hours team are here to provide an emergency service to local first opinion practices at nights, weekends and bank holidays, and to also ensure continuity of care for inpatients that have been seen by our referral team.
Be part of an exceptional team
You will be working alongside an experienced team of Vets, Nurses and Animal Care Assistants in our state of the art hospital. As well as being responsible for new emergencies coming into the hospital, you will work closely with our specialist ECC team on stabilising and monitoring complex cases in the ICU, meaning you will see a stimulating and varied caseload with clinical independence and make an immediate difference to the pets you treat on every shift.
Our commitment to you
We bring people together to make animal care better. We are building the world's best veterinary group with a single purpose; healthy animals and happy owners. We are committed to investing in the career progression of our people and we expect our Senior Vets to take control of their own career through challenging themselves. We will support all employees in pursuing a particular interest and offer exceptional mentoring programmes. We make a real impact on the wider profession by driving clinical research and, by joining the Vets Now & IVC family, you will be at the forefront of clinical excellence.
At IVC Evidensia we invest heavily in the continuous professional development of all our people across the business, whether that's in professional qualifications progression opportunities or coaching and mentoring.
Out of Hours Doesn’t Mean All Hours
A full-time role with us will comprise 40 hours per week and will rotate between weekdays, weeknights, weekends and bank holidays, following an on-off shift pattern.
What We’re Looking For
Previous experience working in OOH is essential and experience with referrals specifically would be advantageous. We are looking for people who thrive in a fast-paced, challenging yet supportive environment, where first-class patient care is at the core of everything we do.
Because our employees matter
There's no getting away from the fact that our Surgeons, Nurses and Support Teams are what makes us who we are. That's why we are continuing to invest in first-class reward and recognition benefits and initiatives.
