The Financial Promotions and Enforcement Task Force (FPET)
This division has a wide remit covering both authorised and unauthorised business, overlapping between regulated and unregulated firms covering all sectors across the FCA. The division has a key role in identifying emerging issues and taking prompt robust action to reduce harm.
The Perimeter Team
The team investigates firms which are not authorised by the FCA but which are carrying out activities that require authorisation. The team is responsible for assessing reports about potential unauthorised activity, carrying out legal analysis and risk assessment, taking action to resolve matters where possible and identifying and escalating serious matters for full investigation and enforcement action.
What you will be doing?
* Accountability of team members' workload including cases relating to a variety of unauthorised firms and reports of unauthorised activity.
* People management – managing and coaching a high performing and inclusive team.
* Supporting the Head of Department and contributing to the development of the FPET vision and future strategy.
* Building and maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders, including at a senior level.

Minimum Requirements
* Qualified Lawyer, with a valid practising certificate or a similar internationally recognised qualification.
* Proven experience of working with the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 and other perimeter legislation.
* Practical experience of civil commercial court and/or crown court procedure.
* Proven experience of managing and mentoring junior staff on technical/legal analysis.

* Experience of working on investigations to add insight and rigor.
* A strong understanding of the financial services landscape.
* Effective project management and organisational skills.
* Strong people management skills.
* Strong communication skills to present analysis clearly and effectively.

* Ability to work well under pressure and manage priorities.
