We are looking to recruit a band 5 Staff Nurse who wants to work in a busy, dynamic, and friendly Outpatient Department and medical day case unit to deliver a modern-day service in a rural setting. We are looking for a motivated and flexible RGN to join our team, where you will have the opportunity to develop your leadership skills, clinic management, and work autonomously. Outpatients and medical day case units at Northumbria provide staff the opportunity to use IT and technology to support patient pathways in new and innovative ways. Detailed job description and main responsibilities
* Within OPD to carry out a range of nursing tasks that will include venepuncture, bladder scanning, bladder treatments, flow rate, cardiology diagnostics and support and develop the team.
* Support visiting teams deliver high quality care for multiple specialities and communicate effectively.
* Ensure a compassionate environment for patients and families when they attend.
* Medical day case assess, plan and evaluate care for patients when they attend for drug infusions, blood transfusions, venesection and port care.
* Work closely with specialist teams to ensure safe care in a rural setting.
* This is a very unique post as the successful candidate will work in both areas which bring a great depth and variety of knowledge and skills.

* 1st Level live NMC registered Nurse.
* Evidence of qualification to undertake the supervision, teaching and assessing of students (essential requirement for post, expectation this will be completed within an 18 month period).
Desirable criteria
* PP126/7
* D32/33
* Post Registration qualification in specialty.
* Diploma/degree in nursing.
Experience and knowledge
Desirable criteria
* Knowledge of or experience in coaching and mentoring practices and tools.
* Knowledge of or experience in Quality improvement tools, techniques and methods.
