THE ROLE
This is a newly created role to join the HR team to provide dedicated HR support to the company, focusing across our UK, German and France markets. This role will support both our internal and our field staff employees.
The HR Assistant will have both administrative and strategic responsibilities, helping us to plan and administer important functions within the HR team, such as employee relations, training and development, contracts and onboarding, and compensation and benefits. This role will have a core focus of HR support within our fantastic field team and will require someone with experience managing grievance and disciplinary cases from start to finish.
This is a permanent full-time position with access to all employee benefits. This is a brilliant role to start out your HR career, allowing you to gain experience in all areas of HR and identify your strengths and career growth opportunities. This role covers UK, Germany and France, so we welcome applicants from anyone based in London, Paris or Berlin. Being able to speak German or French is an added bonus!
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
* Provide an effective and dedicated HR advisory service to employees in relation to absence and health issues, conduct and capability, grievance matters, organisational change, and all other employee-relations matters
* Manage employee relations, disciplinary and grievance cases within our field staff team, ensuring all cases are reviewed in a timely manner and to a high standard in line with employment law.
* Prepare paperwork, schedule, and facilitate a smooth new hire onboarding process, coordinating with cross-functional departments to deliver an exceptional first 3 months experience for our new starters.
* Handle all administrative tasks for onboarding, new hire orientation, offboarding and exit interviews, including entering data into HR information systems and auditing for accuracy and compliance.
* Support with all administration surrounding employee role changes and promotions.
* Administration around monthly payroll processing in collaboration with the Payroll Manager.
* Participate in the development of HR objectives and systems, including metrics, queries, and standard reports for ongoing company requirements.
* Administer or oversee all areas of the people life cycle including, but not limited to, contracts, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
* Monitor and ensure the organisation’s compliance with UK/EU laws and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices.
* Work with the Finance team to ensure payroll data is processed accurately.
* Update and maintain accurate information on the company HRIS. Complete monthly audits of the system to ensure all information is accurate and updated.
* Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; apply this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management.
* Active involvement in HR projects.
* Improve and streamline HR Operations, seeking to enhance our processes to ensure consistency, speed, and deadlines are met. Ensure HiBob (our HRIS) is utilised to streamline processes.
* Live and drive our DEI agenda across the business, actively driving ways to ensure we are always inclusive, training our team appropriately, recruiting diversely and growing in this area. Contribute to our annual DEI report.
REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS
* Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, ethics, and cultural awareness
* Experience managing grievance and disciplinary cases from start to finish
* Resourceful, problem-solving attitude and thorough knowledge of HR procedures and policies
* Proven experience working in an HR department
* Experience using HRIS systems
* Natural interpersonal and communication skills
* Strong detail-oriented and resourceful mindset
* Knowledge of HR national laws and regulations
* Advanced knowledge of MS Office, HRIS systems, and comfortable learning new technical systems as needed
* Above all else, willing to learn!
SALARY AND BENEFITS
This role offers a salary between £28,000 - £32,000 per annum depending on experience.
