This is an opportunity for you to join to the expanding Civils Works Programme at Sizewell C and be part of our mission in helping Britain achieve net zero. SZC is a Nuclear New Build project where when completed, will provide low carbon electricity for 6 million homes for 60 years in the UK. The SZC project has obtained planning approval and is seeking financing with a view to start construction in 2024.
The role of the Civils Works Programme team is to provide comprehensive commercial assurance of the alliance of contractors delivering the civils works elements of the Sizewell C programme. A role currently exists for a Commercial Manager working within the Civils Works Programme function. The role will initially involve the direct management of contracts with key suppliers across the programme with an evolution into a commercial assurance role as works progress on Site.
If you are a Commercial Manager with experience and an interest in commercial assurance and performance management, and experience of contract administration, this may be the role for you. Candidates should ideally have previous experience in the NEC form of Contract and large infrastructure/civils projects and are looking to develop their career further.

What you’ll be doing…
• In the immediate term, administering NEC3 contracts with suppliers, ensuring contracts are managed promptly and accurately. This will involve assessments of applications for payment, assessing contract change claims and managing the early warning process. The duration of this work will depend on programme outcomes but will last 3-12 months.
• Delivering a consistent and documented approach to commercial assurance that can be implemented and applied across the civils works programme within the Sizewell C project.
• Establish and maintain strong working relationships with the key stakeholders across the Projects Controls, Delivery and Engineering teams to ensure the right level of support is provided in the implementation of commercial assurance.
• To provide ongoing support to the Senior Commercial Manager(s) responsible for the implementation and ongoing management of Commercial Assurance across the Civils Works Programme in the area of Performance Measurement, Analysis and Continuous improvement to a consistent standard through the application of performance measurement dashboards and continuous improvement plans.
Who you are…
You will need to be an individual who has ideally been operating in a Commercial / Contract management role for between 3 and 5 years with a specific emphasis on the oversight and delivery of Commercial/Supplier Assurance and/or contract administration. You’ll be motivated, self-starting and pragmatic with the ability to work across multiple discipline teams and stakeholders across the business and the supply chain in driving the development, implementation and operation of commercial assurance and improvement.
