We are seeking an exceptional Textiles Teacher to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will: Deliver engaging and innovative Textiles lessons that cater to a range of learning styles and abilities, fostering a love of textiles and design in our students. Create a stimulating and supportive learning environment where students feel confident to experiment, create, and develop their textile skills. Teach a variety of textile techniques, including weaving, knitting, sewing, and surface design, ensuring students gain a solid foundation in Textiles. Incorporate theoretical knowledge of textile history, design principles, and material properties into your lessons, providing students with a well-rounded understanding of Textiles. Assess students' practical skills and theoretical understanding through a variety of formative and summative assessment methods. Contribute to the development of the Textiles curriculum and departmental resources, ensuring our teaching remains current and engaging. Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practice and ensure the highest standards of Textiles teaching. We are looking for a Textiles Teacher who has: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. A degree in Textiles, Fashion Design, or a related field. Experience teaching Textiles at the secondary level. A strong understanding of the UK National Curriculum for Design & Technology, with a specialism in Textiles. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills. A passion for Textiles and a commitment to inspiring students. A creative and engaging teaching style.
