Head of Sales - up to £80,000 | Full-Time | Permanent | Hybrid (2 days from home, 3 days in the office) Location: Colwick, Nottingham Are you an experienced leader with a deep understanding of the truck/HGV industry? Do you have a passion for nurturing and developing high-performing sales teams? This is your opportunity to lead a team of Business Development Managers (BDMs), focusing on their growth and success rather than direct sales targets. The Role As the Head of Sales, you'll guide a dynamic team of BDMs, ensuring they deliver outstanding results through strategic selling, building long-term customer relationships, and growing the business. You'll report directly to the Sales Director and play a key role in executive management, contributing to strategic decisions and business growth. Key Responsibilities: Passionate about leading and developing people and you are a proven coach and mentor. Ensure that the sales team remain engaged in order to deliver a seamless service to customers. Experience of demonstrating expert strategic selling and ability to pass this to your team. Evidence the ability to secure long-term value from customers making substantial investments in capital goods. Be fully conversant with the contractual documentation of the company and the associated risks and rewards associated with the product. Develop and maintain an active prospective customer database to ensure that sales targets that are set are achieved. Gain a thorough understanding of commercial vehicles, related bodywork and ancillary equipment specifications and capabilities. Develop and maintain an active prospective customer database to ensure that sales targets that are set from time to time are achieved. Develop and maintain an active truck rental customer database reflecting the company's definition of the "ideal customer profile". Gain a good understanding of the specification of the truck rental fleet, appreciating the fleets associated features and benefits. Keeping abreast of customer and prospective customer developments; informing the Sales Administrator or as appropriate, to ensure that the central customer database is kept up to date. What You Bring: Proven leadership and people management skills, with a focus on empowering and mentoring sales teams. Extensive knowledge and experience in the truck/HGV sector. Strong negotiation skills with a history of securing substantial investments from customers. Strategic mindset, able to convert business goals into achievable sales targets.
