The Role
Are you a Risk professional with a track record in the energy sector, looking to make a difference?
Reporting directly to the General Counsel, the Head of Risk is a new and influential role responsible for developing and executing the company’s risk management strategy and framework to align with our business objectives. You’ll work closely with functional experts across the company to identify, assess, and mitigate a diverse range of legal, financial, market, and strategic risks, embedding risk awareness into decision-making processes. You’ll ensure regulatory compliance while fostering a risk-savvy culture throughout the organisation.
You’ll collaborate with senior management, the Audit and Risk Committee, and both internal and external auditors to establish and adapt the company’s risk appetite, ensuring we remain competitive in relevant markets while managing risks to accepted levels. Specifically, in collaboration with Commercial and Finance teams, you will provide governance and controls around energy, financial, and commodity risks (e.g., open exposures, power sales, energy price, trading, hedging activities, interest rates, FX, liquidity, and credit risk). If you have a solid background in risk management within the energy sector, excellent cross-functional collaboration skills, and the ability to drive proactive risk management, we’d love to hear from you!
Desirable skills:
* Degree in Finance/Business, Engineering or any other related field and a strong level of experience in risk management in the energy / renewable energy sector
* Deep understanding of energy trading and financial markets
* Ability to influence and collaborate cross-functionally.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Familiarity with risk management software and tools.
